CTR gaps
Diagnose why ranking pages do not get clicked, against the live SERP.
CTR gaps in EZ SEOS diagnoses why pages that rank do not get clicked, checked against the live Google results. It starts with a free triage across your whole site, then a per-page snippet face-off that compares your listing to the results directly above and below you. It is built to tell you the truth, including when the honest answer is to leave a page alone. Product overview: CTR gaps (/features/ctr-gaps).
The free site triage
The triage runs across your whole site using your own Search Console data, at no credit cost. It starts with site health: your total CTR and the impression split across page 1, page 2, and page 3 and beyond, which instantly shows whether your real problem is rank rather than titles.
- Every ranking page is rolled up and tagged honestly as rank-ceiling, zero-click, branded, or possible-snippet-problem.
- Triage is designed to avoid empty reassurance; a page-2 site still sees honest rank-ceiling tags rather than a clean bill of health.
- Snippet-gap candidates are sized by the clicks they could gain against an expected-CTR benchmark built from your own site's click curve, not a circular average, falling back to an external benchmark when needed.
The snippet face-off
For one page and query, the face-off reads the live SERP and compares your actual Google listing against the results directly above and below you. It attributes the cause mechanically, in plain words, rather than inventing a grade.
| What it finds | What it means |
|---|---|
| Cause attribution | Weak snippet, rank ceiling, SERP crowding, wrong page for the intent, or branded-and-fine |
| Title-rewrite detection | Whether Google is showing a different title than your HTML, and the likely trigger: too long, brackets or pipes, stale year, or boilerplate |
| Click-driver chips | Why searchers click a competing result: query match, brand, freshness, numbers, question framing, or power words |
Why this is the honest page
Title and meta rewrites are proposed only for the one case where a rewrite can actually work: a page-1 listing on a clean SERP with a genuinely weak snippet. Those rewrites are grounded in claims your page actually makes and flag likely truncation. When rank or a zero-click SERP is the real cause, it says so, and when low CTR is acceptable it will tell you not to bother.
Related exposure work covers impressions that never click and AI Overview exposure on the same cluster (/features/ctr-gaps).
You can put the whole thing to the agent. Ask "Which of my page-1 rankings are losing clicks to a weak snippet, and what should the new title say?" and it runs the triage, opens the face-off on the pages that qualify, and drafts rewrites only where one will help.

Costs and caching
The site-wide triage is free because it reads your connected Search Console data. The live face-off reads the current SERP for a page and query, and any paid lookup shows its cost before it runs. Credits overview: credits (/docs/credits).
