Rank tracking

Desktop and mobile positions over time, SERP features, and AI Overview citations.

Rank tracking in EZ SEOS follows your keyword positions in Google over time, on desktop and mobile, and records exactly which of your pages ranks for each term. Every check captures your position, how it changed, and the SERP features present, and every desktop check can record whether Google's AI Overview cites your domain. You use it to watch important terms move, catch drops early, and prove whether a change you made actually helped. Product overview: rank tracking (/features/rank-tracking).

What you can do

  • Track up to 1,000 keywords per tracker, with up to 20 trackers per project.
  • Check desktop, mobile, or both, with country and language targeting.
  • Set the SERP depth anywhere from 10 to 100 results.
  • Run checks daily, weekly, or manually when you want a fresh reading.
  • Keep up to 2 years of position history for every keyword.

What each check records

For every keyword, each check stores more than a number.

FieldWhat it tells you
Position and changeWhere you rank and how far it moved since last check.
Ranking URLWhich of your pages Google is actually ranking for the term.
SERP featuresWhether an AI Overview, featured snippet, People Also Ask, local pack, or video is present.
AI Overview citationWhether your domain is cited in the AI Overview on desktop.

How many keywords rank where?

Position buckets give you the shape of a tracker at a glance: top 3, positions 4 to 10, positions 11 to 20, and not ranking. Tracked keywords are also hydrated with search volume, difficulty, and cost per click, so you can weigh a ranking against the demand behind it. Knowing which URL ranks matters more than most tools admit, because it tells you whether Google is favoring the page you intended or a weaker one you need to redirect or consolidate.

How the agent uses your rankings

The agent reads your tracker history for you. Ask it "Where am I losing rankings, and what should I do?" and it looks across your keywords, finds the terms that slipped, checks which page ranks and whether the SERP itself changed, and tells you where to focus. Because AI Overview citation is stored next to position over time, it can also show whether you are gaining or losing ground inside AI answers, not just in the blue links.

Position history feeds Opportunities and the Do Next visibility queue so rank work is not stranded in a chart. Compare third-party estimates to Search Console on Search Truth (/docs/search-truth). AI Overview context also lives in the GEO loop (/docs/geo). Costs and caching

Setting up a tracker and running checks is credit-based, and the cost of a paid check is shown before it runs. Viewing your tracker, its history, and its buckets is free once the data is collected. Scheduled checks let you keep a term monitored without paying to look at the results you already have. Credits overview: credits (/docs/credits).
